pipe cost?

well i have been thinking about just getting a muffler and having an exhaust shop bend up like a 2.5" pipe from the cat. would this be cheaper than buying a cat back or would it just be worth the extra for a cat back? i have been pretty busy lately and havent really looked into it. any info would be appreciated

it depends on the shop. my exhasut is 2.25 cat back and it cost me 160 and i had the muffler already. it sounds good a little loud, when i get my header and test pipe i will need to get a resonator put in

turbo 2.5, na stick with 2.25 unless you will be at high rpm all the time and need all the power you can get then go with 2.5

RE: pipe cost?

i checked out a couple muffler shops.. all their piping seemed the same.. and one guy, when he went in the guy didnt even ask about pipe size wise or nothing, and the guy who owned the car didnt seem to care,. He got a magnaflow muffler put on.. sounded aright, but kinda throaty. Would these guys know what they were doing if i were to bring in a Greddy sp muffler by itself.. like, would they know what size piping to put for my car.. (99-00 civic ex)
