Please help me decide on AEM vs. Injen
 

I'm going to order either an AEM or Injen CAI tomorrow. I'm not sure which though. Here are my thoughts.

Injen claims the MAF sensor installs better. Vs. AEM who I hear just drills a hole for you to stick it in.

AEM claims dry flow which means no oiling? Why do you have to oil an Injen?

The website I was going to buy from said Injen uses MR technology. But are both AEM and Injen tuned well?

What are the chances of hydrolocking either of these? How easy is it to get water in one? Do you have to be under water? Will a hard rain flood the engine? Is it better to just got a short ram for safety?

Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

I would just go with a SRI. There really is no difference in power between a SRI and CAI. Sure CAI gets some colder air, but the difference wouldn't even be noticeable, probably literally in every way. And if you don't get a bypass valve you risk hydrolocking when it's raining hard or if you go over a puddle. Sure you need a lot of water to go in for that problem, but why risk it?

SRI=looks better, no risk of damage, basically same performance gains of CAI.

that sounds reasonable. So SRI, AEM or Injen?

Also, anyone know where you can find SRI AEM or Injen for the 08 Civic LX?

I have always liked AEM. I have one of their Dry Flow filters on a ebay short ram tube. but I dont have any experience with Injen so I cant really tell you which one is better.

as far as short ram or CAI, I have had both and between the two I didnt notice a power difference. or at least, it was not a big enough difference for me to notice while doing everyday driving. I went with short ram just cuz its way easier to check the filter or clean/change it. plus I don't have to worry about hydrolock at all

Hmmm, I can't find SRI. I guess I'm going to have to upgrade my grills first then. Intake later.

I'm thinking AEM then. As long as the MAF sensor works fine with it.

I say dont waste your money they dont do anything so why are you going to spend 100 bucks for nothing? That 100 could b put toward a turbo

I have an AEM short ram intake, i found it on ebay new for 90 bucks or so
