Queston on quieter exhaust with turbo.

I already searched and didnt find these answers so here goes:

1. I am dynamatting the trunk and doors already. I am enclosing 2 10" in the spare tire well. Should I mat the inside of the well? Should I stuff it with fiberfil? I am going for a sealed enclosure.

2. I saw posts about moving the battery to the trunk but never saw a definitive answer. i am using mine as a daily driver although it has some mods done. (turbo, fuel rails, ecu, lowered with coilovers, etc) I weigh about 220 and was thinking that moving to the rear passenger side would offset the weight and I could get a yellowtop as well. I really dont like that little ass battery. Would it hurt anything or cause any major handling changes?

3. I cant stand the loud exhaust on it. Car came this way and the seller said I could put a 3" exhaust and different muffler and not lose performance. What kind of muffler should I use on a turbo'd car?

I posted in a couple areas because the questions were varied.

Car is a 1999 civix dx 4dr.

3" is overdueing it big time, all you really need would be 2 1/4 or MAYBE 2.5", i'm running 2 1/4 on my si which will soon be boosted

right now my exhaust is stock....and ill be using stock exhaust with my turbo for a little while too.......however, im going to get a new exhaust...most likely some 2.5 inch piping from the turbo back.....to a flowmaster muffler.......ive never heard an exhaust i like......im not even too thrilled with the greddy evo exhaust.......flowmaster will be good and quiet......but wont restrict air.

You really cant go to big on a turbo back exhaust. Usally the bigger the better you just want to rush the gasses out of there as quickly as possible.

THe turbos does act as a muffler also so as long as you have a cat, resonator, and a muffler it really shouldnt be that loud.

but you dont want to go too big because the engine relies on exhaust velocity...so if you have sluggish exhaust it wont be moving out quickly...therefore decrece your power. 2.25 is good on N/A, 2.5 is prolly what you want on a turbo'd car
