RE: REVVING UP TO 4000!!!

i'm able to move it with my hand. why do you think it got stuck when i was driving so it thought i had the pedal down when i didn't?

i think when you installed it , you may have gotten something pushing down on the cable making it tighter than normal , make sure nothing is pushing the cable down causing the throttle pice to be turned at a ll, sorry dont know what it is called. make sure a hose is not making the throttle cable tight, start your car up in neuteral and play around with the cable. making sure nothing is pushin down on it or pulling it up, GL

RE: REVVING UP TO 4000!!!

when i move the throttle thing, it clicks slightly when i push it all the way... is this normal? btw, the car is off.

----------

when my car worked again, i'm not quite sure what i did to "fix it"

i know i took out the iat sensor and put it back it. could it have been loose? could that have been the problem?

i also moved the throttle thing in the engine bay with my hand a little. did that fix it?

how could i avoid this problem in the future?

how do i ensure that the throttle doesn't get stuck (if this is indeed the problem)?

also, RIGHT before this problem happened, i went over railroad tracks kinda fast. how could this have damaged my car? could it have shaken wires loose? if so, where should i look first? anything on the bottom of the car?

RE: REVVING UP TO 4000!!!

sorry i can not answer that for you, but what i think happened it something is putting strain on the throttle cable , causing it to tighten up and open the throttle body for air to get in causing gas to go in. that is what i think i wish i knew more about this subject so i could help you. i ma going to sand the pieces in ym car i primed. OH YA. good luck buddy

Make sure that Misha circled can move back and forth freely. Also make sure you can press your gas pedal and that thing still moves like normal. If it passes those tests you should be good to do. But make sure there are no loose cables or anything next to that thing. A wire or something could have gotten stuck in it or whatever and make your throttle stick. Let us know if you have more problems.

it works now; it passed misha's test. however, a lot of other people with the same problem are pointing to the brake booster's vacuum. what's this? where is it?
