Short Ram Intake?!?
I have a 1999 Civic DX Coupe w/ a Short Ram Intake, and i have a question....I have seen install pics such as this:

The intake pipe just comes out of the left side of the throttle body, and on my car the throttle body is facing upwards, not to the side like the one pictured. The one pictured is much more convenient, and i was wondering if there was something missing on my car or thats just the way this year and model is? I havent been able to find any pictures of the a 99 DX Engine, so i have nothing to compare my engine to.

thats the way it was made, nothings wrong with ur intake manifold...there are intakes made for that type manifold so dont worry. only problem with that kinda set up is that u prolly wont be able to fit a strut bar since the intake pipe will be right in the way...
^^no you dont. but a y7 has a top mounted TB. it will look different from a side mounted. i wish i had an engine bay shot of my old one. i had the same engine...same car for that matter. what color is it?
Thanks for the all the help guys, i thought that there was something wrong cuz i had seen pics of the 99 EX and SI where they had the TB mounted sideways, but as long as you guys say eveyrthings alright
yeah the intake i have right now rubs a little bit on my strut bar, but nothin too serious. Nail I3unny my DX is Black.

I have to highly dissagree there. I have the d16Y7 engine witha short ram intake AND a strut bar. The only proble I had was tha the rubber vaccume hose rubbed up against it to the point it leaked. I fixed it by simply adjusting it.
