Default SRI

hi all,

i just got my intake (AEM SRI)a couple days ago and im planning on hookin it up tomorrow, but i had a couple of last minute questions. i have a 99 lx automatic, does anyone have the same car. if so, could you please post a clear picture of what the intake should look like after it's installed so i can compare. also any suggestions on how to install or what to look out for would be great.

also, i also see posts abou CELs and gaining a CEL after you install the intake... i'm not too sure what you guys mean, could someone please explain?

THANKS EVERYONE!!!

im a newb to all this modifying stuff and i'm not too familiar with everything under my hood. so if someone has pictures with descriptions or captions as to what's what or where it should go, that'd be great. i just want to make sure i understand all the directions and that i'm hooking it up right. thx!

i finally put my intake in earlier today. so far everything is good. i only went around the block once to test it out because it was late. sounds nice and runs smooth so far. i guess ill really find out once i actually start doing some real driving with it. i know that you can hear it whistle or whatever, but i'm not sure when that is. at what rpms does it usually do that? like i said just went around the block once so i wasn't hittin any high rpms.

also, i previously asked about the CEL gain that everyone talks about, can someone please explain what it means and how i can find out if i got it or not?

thanks!!!

a CEL is a Check Engine Light.... you can tell if you gain it by looking at your gauge cluster and seeing it light up. but be carefull, one time i gained a CEL but i disconnected my battery for a couple of minutes and then i lost it all that tampering for nothing

yeah when you installed the intake did you disconncet the negative battery terminal? If not, you should go do that right now and leave it unhooked for like 5 minutes, then hook it back up. It resets the ECU and lets it recognize the new intake.
