His is functional and was necessary. The J-series engine would not fit under the stock hood. Completely different story.

^ Ditto...Splat's hood isnt for his intake...his engine is just too big to fit under the stock hood and they dont make hoods to compensate that big of an engine so he had to go with that one and modify it. I asked them a couple times about it myself and got snipped at but it makes total sense now and it really doesnt look that bad at all!
