Test Pipe.
Im installing the turbo wednesday. (so excited).......and i was thinkin about putting a test pipe in place of my cat. (i know i know, but i wanna do it).............ive actually heard of people losing power from doing this, bcuz the cars not puttin out THAT much exhaust....but when my car is boosted would this give me a great power increase? Or not really worth it.? I have a hook up for inspection stickers so thats no biggie.

RE: Test Pipe.
Yea, you'll have a power increase from this, plus your turbo will spool up a bit quicker, but probably not too noticble.

RE: Test Pipe.
youll notice it, but i still say drop the money on a Random Tech. they flow like a pipe, but you wont get busted.
|
RE: Test Pipe.
You will be a lot louder too. When I put my pipe on before I go to the track, Darryl becomes the loudest car on the planet. It's almost laughable.

RE: Test Pipe.
random tech....no thanks
http://shopping.lightningmotorsports...me.php?cat=457 Expensive man. I can get a test pipe that looks like a cat for 50 bucks, with the bung welded in it. Sniper how loud is it? I mean im going to be running a flomaster 40 series exhaust, so im hoping it wont be loud. |
RE: Test Pipe.
Well, you know I have the THUNDERMUFF!! too, but I worry about getting pulled over it' so loud. My exhaust sounds like someone blowing as hard as they can into a trombone. I HAVE to get a new muffler.

RE: Test Pipe.
Got a sound clip hideing around here somewhere?
|
RE: Test Pipe.
40 series flowmaster mufflers are the loudest mufflers that they make so if you're hoping to not be too loud, Im not sure if you will be able to accomplish that. But worth trying.

RE: Test Pipe.

RE: Test Pipe.
there is a guy from my school that has a flowmaster 40 series muffler on his accord. he has some kind of dual air intake setup and his car sounds HORRIBLE....bust your eardrums loud and sounds like a tin can. hopefully yours wont sound bad! i think his car is just prolly screwed!
