i personally would do a regular, the performance gain is not worth the price, you wouldnt notice it at all

on the 7th gen civics, the V2 picks up air from the engine bay, NOT from down in the fender where a typical CAI goes.

the stnd cai on the 7th gen just sits in the bottom of the engine bay, the 6th gens and back actually go in the fender

I chose the V2 for my '02 EX. I love it - plain and simple. You do get a couple extra horses over the regular AEM intakes, but the compliments I get on the sound! I haven't done any exhaust work yet and the V2's sonic resonance (check the manufacturer's site for the specs) sounds pretty mean. I can't wait to hear it with a cat-back.

However, if it's an issue of price - you can get no-name generic cai's and sri's on ebay for 30 bucks all day long.

I have also seen custom piping to direct the cold air up from the ground or front air dam toward the filter of the intake. This forces nice cool air over the filter and reduces the amount of warm engine air consumption as well as the risk of hydrolock inherent to a full cold air intake. You'll have to get creative though - I've seen sweet mandrel bent aluminum to PVC plumbing.

Good luck either way!

I heard that Injen also sells an additional pipe that will turn your SRI into a CAI. You should check into that. I'll try to find the link so you can read it.

Here it is:

Check out EIS Section.

yea i did some more research and in the quarter mile the v2 is .2 seconds faster than the cai, which is a car length. you wouldn't be able to notice that at all. the money isn't the issue.. i was just wondering wat you guys thought. i think ill just stick with the original cai.
