Weapon R, secret weapon SRI
Hmm ebay, not looking so good. I checked out the links on the weapon R, how does that compare to another SRI. Whats the average HP gain you get from a new intake. I want to know is it really worth it for the $200.00. It sounds like overall it didnt do so great on performance..But i dont know that much about customizing cars just yet.
I have the intake, i got it for 170 from here: http://www.weaponspeed.com/w36.html . I am overal pleased with it. the brace that comes with it to hold the intake up should have been welded to the tube instead of just something you can screw to the stock bolt down ( the little bracket with rubber bung on it by the fuse box) and hold it up. mine falls off the bracket sometimes so i have to put it back in place. The only really difference is the sound given by the intake. it has a whistle to it when the car is idling and under very little throttle. the noise isnt overly noticable but its there. might just be me but im not sure. i heard most the SRI do about the same add a little hp in midband and lose a little low torque. the cold air ( under car or in wheel wheel) are said to be the best for a little more hp in top but loss of some torque. Overal an intake doesnt do a whole lot on the 7th gen cars. i do not claim accuracy on my statements just what i have gathered.
Hmm, useful info. Would i be able to get the pipe welded on if i wanted to purchase the weapon R. It seems that the intake want show that much performance gain, so i could do with one thats cheaper then $200.00. Im still debating beteween cold air and SRI. Ive read the threads but, still am not sure. Im not really worried bout flooding the engine. It will be unlikely to be submerged in water high enough for that to happen. Not any bad rain conditions here in Georgia. Anyone have any opinion from using either intakes?
Thanks.
Thanks.
