Yes, modding an auto is worth it... you still won't have the performance of a 5-speed, but it helps a little. And I'd look into transmission swaps if you're serious about making your car faster and more fun to drive.

So, you lose a little off the line and gain a little at higher rpm?

Not much is lost off the line unless you install 3-inch exhaust pipes. But yes, high rpm gains are definitely there. My tach climbs noticeably faster.

Well, I installed a SRI and it sounds great! It's hard to say that I feel a great difference in HP but, I definitely get a little better MPG (that is, when i'm not stomping on the gas). But I do notice something, before, when I would floor it, the engine sounded like you were really moving but the speed of the car didn't match the noise the engine was making, now it all matches up nicely (if that makes sense). Anyway, thanks for the info and I am sure this is the first mod of many.
