Default Where can i get a Plastic intead of Metal Intake

Guys im looking at replacing my stock intake with a plastic Intake, don't matter if its cold air or not although i would prefer cold air.

Everything on ebay is metal tubing and i want plastic for obvious reasons (heat).

Where can i get one, what company? I know Iceman sells them but at $300 its not worth it.

This is for a 98 Civic... nothing fancy just trying to improve gas mileage.

i can't think of many reasons why you wouldn't want a metal intake.....go with a metal one, for real.

Metal > plastic
Are you saying you don't think the heat would have a negative effect on the plastic??

According to the AEM site, it doesn't make a difference whether metal or plastic is used. I've always thought that plastic would insulate better, but only if the incoming air is extracted from outside of the car. If the air is pulled in from the engine bay area, it probably does NOT make a huge difference.

techinicaly its not just METAL... more are aluminum which does transfere heat better than metal

but if you really think that plastic is the only way to go then just get some PVC and plumb up your own intake

otherwise just get the ALUMINUM intake and get some header wrap and wrap the whole thing...

theres a difference between knowing physics and something that just plain works the same. youll never PHYSICALY FEEL the difference in added HP from the intake anyways at least not on a civic! unless your doing some turbo, super charger intake setup that is....

well there might be a reason why you actually have to search for a plastic intake and 90%+ of aftermarket intakes are metal. But if you really wanna do it go get some PVC piping and go at it all you want.
