Default Y8 intake mani bolt right onto Y7 intake mani?

I've heard good things about the y8 manifold, and i since i have a y7, im thinking about swapping the intake manifolds. Does the y8 manifold bolt right on? I know i need the manifold itself, a new gasket, and a new intake, but is there anything im missing? Do i need to any ECU work or anything else to my engine?

if it's just the IM, you don't need the ecu... just make sure the sensors are copmpatible - manual w/ manual, auto w/ auto, etc. - it should just bolt up.

use a 99/00 EX automatic intake manifold and it is a direct swap, yes it is worth every penny.

with the y7 IM the TB sits on top, the y8 the TB is on the side, so you would prolly need a new intake, throttle body and manifold for the complete setup. i could be wrong tho.

Marty, i have a manual DX, would the 99/00 EX automatic intake manifold still work?

And yeah the throttle bodies are different like psycho said, but the ones i was looking at, i think it includes the throttle body with the intake manifold (i can deal with getting a new intake pretty easily). I was looking at something like this. I can't find the auction i was looking at before so that one right there doesn't include a throttle body. Will my y7 throttle body bolt onto that? Or do i need to get a y8 throttel body as well?

I think i just answered my own question....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/D16y7...QQcmdZViewItem

This guy said he had this throttle body on his y7 and then he put a y8 intake mani on and used the same throttle body, which means i can use my y7 TB with the y8 intake mani. Correct?

the Y8 Mani is ALOt better i hear, just buy the whole set, Manifold,Gasket & the TB, and throw a Cold Air intake on there, or SRI, whatever you prefer ;D
