Default 96-00 broken hood release pull replacement

Hey everyone I started making these hood releases because my buddy boke his on his 98 cx and I though he was just being an animal. After I got my 97 cx I managed to do the same thing so this is what i've come up with.

Leave me some comments and let me know what you think.

If you want one check out my thread in the classified sections.

This is to replace a broken plastic piece which you would pull on to open the hood?

Does the plastic piece screw off, and this screws on? My brother broke when he got the car. I am sure he would be interested in this if you can show us some installed pictures as well as some install instructions.

I don't see why it wouldn't.

I'd like to see some pictures of installation, or at least of what it looks like installed

Remove plastic tab from driver side kick panel.

Unhook the kick and swing it out of the way. Using a pair of wire cutters cut the remaining plastic off.
It should come of in large chunks since it's very brittle. This is why it broke in the first place.

What a good idea. When I bought a used 98 Civic DX, it came broken. I had to use pliers to pull on it and release the hood... Good to know this was a fairly common problem, and not because I bought a mistreated car.

^ ^ ^ was using pliers on my sisters civic until I just replaced the whole hood release cable/latch which was very annoying for such little problem. Wish I saw this thread sooner.

you should post this on honda tech as well, I'm sure you'll get some more buyers
