Default 99-00 bumper on 98 civic 2dr.

I know that one way to get the above is a front end conversion...but does anyone know about an aftermarket....ummm...."99 or 00-style" front bumper that will fit a 98?? Truthfully, I just want the Type-R fog lights. I love the way they look, but sadly my bumper doesn't have the little cutouts for them. I'd hate to have to do a complete front end conversion just because I want those fogs.

I've been on just about every body kit manufacturer's site, and no one makes a "99-00"-style front bumper for the 96-98 Civic. I guess I'll have to do that conversion.

go to www.jdmcarboy.com and then go to specials. go to the bottom of the page and there is a complete 99-00 conversion kit that includes a hood, fenders, grill, bumper, type r or mugen front lip and your choice between chrome, black or gun metal housed headlights. all for $625. this is all brand new stuff too, not used and dirrect fitment. Im going to see how much it will be with a carbon fiber hood. probly about $775 to $800 i bet. just thought you might want to know.

Thanks for the info. I looked around on the web for pics of people with the conversion done. I could only find one set of pics, tho....but man, it was CLEAN. The caption said that it was done at some body shop in Cali, but left out how much it was. I know next to nothing about body work or how much it costs....I'd love to know how much that dude paid to get it done.

It should not be all that hard. remove the hood, grill, fenders, bumper and head lights and put on the 99-00 hood, grill, fenders, bumper, and head lights. the only hard part is getting everything to line up i would think.

Cool...I probably give it a shot, but not anytime soon (at least not within the next 2 or 3 months)...gotta save for my whole valvetrain upgrade first.
