you have to remove the whole thing.. least thats how mine was after just removing my bag in my 96 hatch.. had to unbolt from underneath after taking out glove box etc..

wow..this brings back memories, this question was my first post on this site lol...but ya, you need to take out the glove box by opening it and pushing the sides in and you will see the metal that the sides need to clear for it to come down, then theres 3 or 4 bolts that you will see holding the air bag brackits to the car, undo thos and unplug the harness to the air bag and it will pop out...BTW i actally never ended taking it out, i was too afrade the air bag would blow

ya that might be a better idea..just lots of tape and newspaper, i dident want to risk it because after about 20 people replyed..i couldent get a strate anwser if anything would happen,some sead yes,some sead no,some sead mabey..so it wasent worth it

didnt blow up on me.. just unplugged it/unbolted it,, and took it out
