Default Best Sandpaper to Use before Painting...

As i'm sure you've seen I have most of my interior painted, I have painted something and it is peeling right now, I want to resand it and repaint it but I am unsure of what the best grit sandpaper is for the job, I want to sand all the rest of the paint off and start new...any suggestions?
Thanks Civic Tuners!

3M's wet/dry sandpaper (the grey kind). use maybe 1000 grit if you're trying to remove paint

i dont think 1000 will leave a rough enough surface for good adhesion, its great to polish with, i'd go 400, and then after you paint polish it up 1000

yeah, 1000 grit is almost like regular paper, so it will just polish it up good, as long as you dont sand too hard or too long.

most Kragen/autozone type places have it, and i think its best to sand everything but the final coat, as that will show the fine lines, but its paint, so you can pretty much just fix anything you mess up, as long as you dont REALLY screw up. just sand the paint, then clearcoat it, sand that, and see what it looks like. if it looks better unsanded, apply another coat of clear.

actually, you do sand the final coat. thats how you achieve a "mirror finish" with painting. start with 1500, then 2000. and then after that it will be smooth but still with some fine lines. you use rubbing compound to polish out the fine lines left over and then apply some standard car wax to buff everything up once its cleaned off.

i suppose though that it won't matter if you're just doing some interior painting, unless you're really **** about orange peel
