Default Body kits question

Im looking around at full body kits, prices...ive found a site called kgsengineering.com. They have some good deals on lots of items, and body kits starting at $299 and up. Im trying to figure has anyone heard of them or bought products from them. The price seems great but something is very odd about getting a full kit (front, rear bumper, skirts) for as low as $299.99. It says they come in fiber glass or carbon fiber, doesnt specify what material is for the listed price.

Thanks.

First off, for $299, it's definitely fiberglass. I haven't heard of kgs, but $300 is a low-average price. When I used to have a kit (R34 from Aerotrends.com), it was $325, but it cost $160 to ship. Honestly, with fiberglass, the fitment won't be perfect, but it should be half-decent. Are you putting it on yourself or are you going to have a body shop do it?

Hmm, an average price huh. How durable is fiberglass body parts, whats the average lifetime i can get out of this. Will it crack or anything real easy. Well if its going to have problems i get a shop to do it for me, i would like to save money, and learn how to do alot of these mods myself though. Whats the worse that could happen if i do purchase a kit from this site, thye have popular brands ive seen around.

Thanks.

Fiberglass should be fine. You just got to watch out about bottoming out and scraping it against the road.

urethane is the way to go. if you have a 96-98 i have a urethane kit for sale that will be a pretty decent price. but anyway with fiberglass it will crack really easy and it does not give at all. with urethane, it gives and flexes so it doesnt crack so your body kit will stay in tact for longer.

299 body kit will be made of very very thin fiberglass (u will probably be able to see light threw in some spots) My suggestion is if you are making a show car stay away from those kits it will be wavy and won't fit right. So if u take it to a body shop they are going to love you if u want it done right because they will have to mad prep that piece so it will look good.

+1 for urethane, i've had a fiberglass kit and that thing was soooo fragile, i didnt want to lower my car because of how fragile it was, i scraped one time bad with it and swear to god it was going to shatter, luckily it didnt though. With a $300 kit, the fitment probably wont be hte best and its gonna be thin fiberglass, you definitely ge what you pay for. And on alot of huge body kits, you'll regret it in a few months wehn you notice how sick a clean lip kit looks have to deal with selling it/buying a new lip kit. I say lip kit man, easier to install, more durable, cheaper to paint (if you decide to), and also if you get an aggressive lip i think they look as good as a body kit. My Jun lip is the most aggressive one i could find and i love it.

I do believe 97_ex might be trying to sell you his kit

But yeah, a $300 kit is most likely going to be thin fiberglass.. People tend to underestimate fiberglass, though. I'm not saying it won't break, but with my kit, it got to the point where I would bottom out on purpose just for fun (little things like that amuse me) and the sides never cracked at all. If you get the fiberglass kit, I'd recomend getting some of that spray-can foam insulation (for houses) at like Lowe's or something and reinforcing the sideskirts. It's what I did.
