after seeing some wheels on my friends car, i was thinking about getting 17s in a not-chrome but an aluminum type material. what do you think? heading in the wrong direction?

okay figured 17s would be a bit big for my civic, i saw 17s on my friends celica, but then again im not a celica also, curious about two things... how come a lot of people reccomend rota?

also, when looking at at the drop downs at jlbmotorsports how should i know what size to select? i understand that for my car i am 4x100 which is easy enough, but sometimes the offset and the bore differ. i tried reading some info, but i dont really understand it enough, but then again im pretty tired :P

 

Here's the simplest I can explain it:

Offset is the distance of the back side surface of the hub from the middle of the wheel (when looking at it sideways). +___mm is more towards the outside lip of the wheel, and -___mm is more towards the inside lip of the wheel. An offset of 0 would place the hub directly in the middle of the wheel.

The offset you will need will vary by width of the rim (if you think about the above information you will understand why it varies by the rims width)

I'm not sure of what offset you will need. 16" rims will mostly be 7" wide though.



We recommend Rota and Drag wheels a lot because they are quality constructed, look good, and are relatively inexpensive.

i'm willing to bet that your Civic needs ~+38-40mm offset for 7" wide wheels, much like 92-00 Civics. I'm not sure so you'll have to check. Do a google search

 

well im checking out the rota grids in 16 which i am really into, and the only listed for 4x100 is... 16x7 4x100 +40mm offset 67.1mm bore

 

I searched and people say +38-42mm is good for your car

 

yeah it seems like the 16x7 4x100 +40mm offset 67.1mm bore Rota Grids would look nice on my car. they have a **** ton of colors, any suggestions? i was thinking something close to or a bit shinyer (sp?) then stock. was thinking Hyper Silver would look nice
