carbon fiber or fiber glass?

Im trying to get some knowledge of parts and materials. So carbon fiber is real light weight but cost more, and fiber glass parts are heavier? Should i try to look for parts made from carbon fiber and how much of a difference does it all make as far as overall weight and car performance?

Thanks alot.

what parts are you looking at? the weight reduction will not be that much, it does matter just whatever you want to go with. i have a carbon fiber hood and i love it just because of how light it is.

carbon fiber just looks great. a carbon fiber hood is about half the weight of a regular one. if you are buying cf because you want to "weigh less", then you better just rip out your interior or something. carbon fiber is expensive, but i think it shines and looks like nothing else.

as far as hoods carbon fiber and fiberglass weigh about the same with carbon fiber you are paying for the kevlar (material u see thats weaved) also is u reclear a carbon hood its looks alot better and will last longer (won't fad as easily) but carbon fiber usually cost more then fiberglass. Fiberglass has flaws to u cheap out on a hood u will see alot of waves in the hood and will need extra work done for fillin and so on plus u got to paint it..
