cf shortage?
Yeah, no doubt one could make a killing making CF these days. My whole car would be CF if I had the coin. I would paint it to look good, of course. 
I think it's the distributor this guy goes through that's having trouble. What I mean is distributors typically try to order in volume to save money, and if they can't purchase big wholesale orders they will make the shop (and you) wait until they have enough backordered and then buy. If certain styles are out of stock at Seibon that might affect how often the distributor orders. Siebon asked me what style I was looking for. They probably make tons of Honda hoods in advance and would have some even if they were out of CF fabric to make others.

The OP's state is true that demand has skyrocketed due to Boeing's new interest for their new airliner, the Dreamliner, BUT they use a different process and use other higher quality composites as well that THEY develop in their R&D department. So it shouldn't directly affect the cf hood market.
