Default Civic Cluster Problems

i bought a cluster for my 94 civic bc the mph needle wasn't moving... so i bought a cluster with the glow guages which is kool... i installed it the other day and everything worked, all the needles move, so i'm happy... yesterday on my way to work, i noticed that the mileage reading wasn't moving... after work, i went back home and again the mileage did not move... wanted to know if its defected or do i have to wait a little while and hope it starts reading the miles...

If both gauge cluster "don't work" I would begin to suspect and bad speedo sensor.
