Tools and parts needed.
a 10mm wrench or socket to remove taillights.
HOT GLUE GUN.. (walmart.)
two Packs of 2,000 grit wet sandpaper. (found at autozone or walmart in the auto department.)
14 SUPERFLUX prewired leds. ( http://www.oznium.com/prewired-superflux )

and MOST IMPORTANT
1 canVHT nite-shades! ( http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=VHT%2DSP999&a mp;N=700+115&autoview=sku )
best taillight tint ive tried!
and a hand drill IF you chose to upgrade the lighting with the superflux leds.

nice and BORING!!!!!!

NOW BEFORE TINTING YOUR TAILLIGHTS..... REMEMBER... depending how many coats of the tint you use depends on how DARK the tint is.....
AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANT... IF YOU WANT TO TINT THE WHOLE TAILLIGHTS. (it may look cool parked, BUT driving during the day its almost IMPOSIBLE for people behind you to see your turn signals and brake lights!) at night seeing thru the tint is no problem BUT during the day is VERY UNSAFE and cops CAN MESS WITH YOU HARDCORE! cause to them you dont have any brake lights or turn signals!

NOW the safer way to tint your taillights is by adding more lights... and in my case i left the rear clear portion clear and drilled holes into them and instaled PREWIRED SUPERFLUX LEDS wiring them into the brake lights.

OK here we go.....
first remove taillights.... simply one plug per taillight. thier is 4. and thiers 4 nuts for each taillight total 16. JUST BE CAREFULL these bolts go into plastic so they should only be snug... anymore and you risk breaking the mounting bolts off!

those are my taillights AFTER i sanded off all the first tint since i wanted to redue them... now if your doing your first tint you want to first smooth off the raised lettering off the outter lenses. thier might be some on the inner taillight sections BUT i cannt remember! but just feel for any lettering or numbering thats raised.
then with some 2,000 grit sandpaper and either a hard sanding block or a soft one will also work fine. and its best if you wipe off the taillights and spray some tint over those spots and let the tint dry.. its SO MUCH EASIER to know when they are sanded all the way down...

THESE are them BEFORE i sanded them all off... AS YOU CAN SEE... you can see the raised lettering on the right lense which just looks bad...

now start sanding.. BUT it will take some time! you dont want to use to ruff sandpaper and cut scratches into the plastic taillights! so just keep sanding till all the lettering is sanded down...

NOW BE SURE BEFORE PAINTING TO CLEAN THEM VERY GOOD!!!!! and realy good inside the cracks!
NOW if you want to just do the UNSAFE "full tinted taillights" just start tinting
This tint is just like paint... so spray evenly starting out with light coats allowing 5-10mins between coats. i did 1 light coat and 2 heavy coats. anymore and it seems to be TO DARK...

ALSO.... forgot remember to spray around the edges of the taillights from the backside.... otherwise you will have red coming around the edges from the sunlight during the day... black paint will work just as good for the backinside edges.... just spray it BEFORE you spray the outter front lense just to make it easier...

just a slight red coming thru... BUT STILL during the day in the sun seeing the brake lights or turn signals is ALMOST IMPOSIBLE!
here is a video i made of them during a dim day... sorry no direct just click on it..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sogcMcvlLo
tho trust me its VERY BAD during a bright day!!!!! i never got a video of them on a bright day sorry.

and well HERE is the SAFER way to tint your taillights... ONLY HALF TINTED

and again after sanding them smooth this time just tape them up where you want the clear section. tho i will sugest to come SLIGHTLY down over the clear section alittle to clear the red or else some red will show along the botom.
and i used some halogen lights to help speed up dry time.. since i did this during the winter.

and when done tinting and tint is dry just peel the tape off in a downward angled slow motion so the tint wont lift and tear into your tinted section.

NOW to upgrade the the lights which is HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!!!!
what i used is some red PREWIRED SUPERFLUX LEDS..
http://www.oznium.com/prewired-superflux
and drilled holes just the size to fit the led units and while trying to keep them evenly spaced and pointed evenly as well..

The last couple shots are the best...is it just me or is take the rear bumper off one of the hardest things to do? I just cant get my arm up there to reach those bolts!

I have noticed around where I live that more and more cars have tinted tailights. A lot of people keep saying it is unsafe and illegal. But I recently talked to an insurance claim adjuster and someone that works at a law obeying window tint shop about them and neither of them said there was a law or heard of them being unsafe. I have just done mine a little over a week ago and I am very happy with them. Here is a pic.
