i liked them a few years ago when i was just getting into imports, and i think they can look pretty good on the right car, but i also think that showey tails are playing out pretty fast. and those are not legal anywhere. they have to have red on them. but of course, some places the cops dont care, so if thats the case, and you like them, go for it.
You may wanna check and make sure they are legal where you are. I'm not sure, but I've heard they are outlawing them in some states due to poor visibility, which is true. You can't see when your are breaking or have a turn signal on, so check that out first. Anyway, if you like 'em, go for it. I think they'd only look good on a silver civic, cuz they'd match a lil better, but w/e.
the reason they're illegal is because they don't have a red reflector......and because they don't make a dot approved red light bulb.
I used to have them on my s-10 and got more tickets than you would believe

On second thought, if the top half of the taillight was tinted gray, and the bottom half was left clear, then you would have the whole monotone thing going on: it would look like you took your car and went Image > Mode > Grayscale! But I still only think it would work if your car is silver.
I swaer I've seen some SUVs around here where the whole taillight assembly is clear, but with red bulbs... is that really illegal?
