Ebay Tail Lights
Bought pre-cut tint for my tail lights and they were cut too short. Tried to stretch them out but just didn't work out. Found a pretty sweet set of black L.E.D's on ebay but a lil iffy. Has anyone got headlights or tail lights from ebay and not had any leaks or anything?

nope lol but its pretty easy to seal them
|
ebay head and taillights would most likely leak but like cyberx32 said you can seal them up pretty easily. just get some silicone
|
yea even if they are a good quality its best to take some black silicone and fill the space between the lens and the headlight or taillight housing with just enough to seal it up good and make it look smooth. lol dont use too much or you could end up with a crappy looking "smoked" lens haha :-)

I just put in Spyder tail lights. They were $208. Look great and no leaks. I say spend the money on decent lights. BTW, changin lights on an 06-08 is pain in the butt. Due to removing the bumper.
V8 Diet - what kind of type r you swapping in? My friend put a integra type r engine in a 92 civic hatch a while ago. It was crazy fast. Like 150 mph in no time. However he got a DUI and had to sell it lol. |
Well I'm still waiting on the cash to buy the motor and trans and stuff, but Id like to find a b18c5 or even a b18c7 I know theres only a 5 hp difference but it'd be cool to have the much more rare jdm motor :-) but yea I know it'd be insanely fast just due to the power to weight ratio. I weighed my car on a steel scale and it weighed 2430 with me in it.

Thanks for the help!

I got some ebay tails awhile ago and only one out of the four pieces leaked. Unfortunately, when cheap tail lights fill up with water, the inside reflective paint tends to go too. I had to pop that one open, repaint the inside with metallic paint, remove all the old silicone, and recaulk the whole thing. It was a royal PITA. If you really want tail lights, I'd do it right and spend a little more than you want. It'll be worth it in the end.
If you want tails with the smoked look, you can get some spray tint from hobby shops and tint any set of tails. A few people on the forum have gone that route with great results. |
