fading paint

ok, the paint on my civic if fading, badly. other than a new paint job, is there anything i can do to save some of that cash?

you can go to the store and pick up a kit to bring the color back but it requires alot of wet sanding the paint and buffing and polishing..and if done wrong you can sand your paint right down, i saw it dun on the show "trucks" and it really does make a difference, you could check out that..i dont think the kit cost to much

You may be able to buff it back to life without wetsanding...(I've been detailing cars for 16 years and have never had to wetsand a car to bring the color back). It would be best to bring it to your local deatil shop and have them look at it. You can do it yourself but if you've never done it before it's pretty easy to burn through and edge. 3M's perfect it line is great for bringing back an old finish. It will probably cost you $100-$150 for a good shop to do a 3-step buff on it.
