fenders

Hey everybody, I just got a 94 ex coupe, I'm loving the car, but there's a slight problem with the fenders, they don't seem to fit with the front bumper quite right, not that they're dented really, they just don't line up quite right. I was wondering if I would get a better fit with Metal Z3s, or if I should just take it to a shop.

RE: fenders

What kind of fenders are on there right now? Are they plastic, metal, fiberglass, and stock or aftermarket?

They're aftermarket, fiberglass, Z3s

Fibergalss usually needs a professional installation because the fitment isn't quite right. Metal ones would be better. Have you tried adjusting them, it's not super difficult?

Yeah, I've heard fiberglass has a tendency to not mold correctly, which is why I was thinking of buying metal ones, and no, I haven't tried moving em around myself, I'm kinda nervous about messing with the body myself too much.

It's not difficult. tape off any areas where the fender butts up to another body part, loosen the bolts, and move it around until you get it all lined up. If you take your time you should be able to get it pretty close.

just make sure you don't get the fenders too close to the doors. Once you have them where you want them, open the doors (slowly) to check to make sure the doors aren't going to hit the fenders. Good luck

this is what happened to me and my door kept chipping. i took it into the paint shop and they told me while my door was chipping. they got it figured out and fixed.
