Front Bumper Cover Mounting Strip

Default Front Bumper Cover Mounting Strip

you all know what im talking about....what can u do about it. i cant get mine out and it looks like crap. I went to the junkyard and tried like 6 different ones and couldn't get em out I work in a metal shop so should i just make one? what have you guys done?

you talking about that strip of metal at the top of the bumper, under the edge of the hood, that has like 5 bolts in it and holds the top of the bumper on?

2 words.... VIS GRIPS thats what i used on my old EG when the screw heads striped! just clamp onto the top of the heads since they do raise up alittle and your golden! its just the screwes rusted into place no big deal! its only metal so just paint it.

i know i can get it off if i try but i dont want to put back the old blots and i dont really like the look of the oem piece so i was thinking of just making a flat one either out of alum or steel and then painting.

you could.... but it does have a arch shape to it. IMO to much hassle for something so small and hidden with the hood closed

Oh alright, i remember when i stripped those bolts on my old EG.
Good thing my Del Sol has hex-head bolts

it doesn't take much to give it an arch... and yeah the hoods closed and you cant see it but i just detailed my engine compartment and this piece is the only bad looking piece under the hood
