Default front windshield tint, does it look good?

Hello. I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX Coupe SE which I just recently tinted. I got dark 20% tint around my entire car except for the front windshield of course. I have a question for you guys. Does it look good having like a 6 inch strip of the same color tint (dark 20%) on the top of your front windshield. I beielve it is legal here in california to do that. I just wanted to get some of your guys's opinions on how you think it would look. thanks a lot.

i considered doing that on mine since i have those cd holders on my visors, so they dont stay in place when i put them down to block the sun, but i just dont like the way it looks.

i guess i'm the only one so far who likes having a tint strip on my windshield. i have my car done in 5%, and absolutely love it. my first car had 35, then i had it retinted in 20...when i got my civic, i decided to try the 5. it blocks out a ton of light. also, the strip on the windshield helps when the sun is starting to set, and the visors don't block certain areas. just be aware...most states have a limit on how low the tint can go. i think it's usually around 4".

Here's what's legit in Cali.<-----------------lame. I've never known anyone who had the tint strip though to have problems with cops. Just don't make it obnoxiously huge ya know.

And oh yeah, not a huge fan, but I don't dislike it either. Whatever ya dig I say.

How much does it usually cost to retint all around? The tint I have on my car has some air buble in it and it's not as clear as normal.

it usually depends on the shop. most shops charge extra for removing old film, so that will up the price. find out what type of tint shops around you use...3M is the best by far, but their 5% isn't as dark as some of the cheaper films....but it is guaranteed to never turn purple or fade. also, the type of soapy water solution the shop uses for sticking the film to the window and the brand of film can have an effect on the clarity of the glass when everything dries out.

hope that helps!

i had good results w/ madico metalized tints, liftime garantee to not bubble or turn purple. had my car doe 35% (which is the limit here in nevada) all around for $155, but get this, the guy told me he would do 20% for an extra $20 bucks because legally tint shops cant put on tints that break the law...Scam!...but he did do a good job tho
