gauge cluster question

i want to swap out my gauge cluster because the trip reset button is broken. ive got a 96 civic EX manual tranny. question is, can i buy a gauge cluster for a dx, take the gauges out of that cluster (fuel gauge, and temp gauge) and put my fuel, temp and rpm gauges in the dx cluster? reason why im thinking of doing this is, the dx, lx, clusters on ebay are cheap. the clusters for EX maual are expensive. all my gauges work on my EX cluster now. i just want the trip reset feature. also were could i get LED lights for my gauges?

Don't some of the DX gauges lack an RPM gauge all together? That might be the reason for the price difference.

yes they do. they put the temp gauge in the spot where the tach goes. but heres the thing, the gauge hole's are the same size on both clusters. so im thinking maybe of getting a dx cluster. and swapping around the gauges. just dont know if anyone has done this and if it works.

yes the center speedo section is swapable with no problem! remove the 3-4screws on the back of the cluster to remove the speedometer section and swap it over... pretty easy. hardest part is gettign some of the plastic snaps poped off the front trim pieces.
this is the basic...
