Default Good molded drop-in carpet?

I'm getting caught up on a bunch of long-overdue TLC maintenance on my baby. One item that's been ragged out and forgotten for a long time is my carpeting. There's a pretty ugly wear-thru hole under the driver's right heel. I'm in Florida where unfortunately sand and grit are never far away. Despite a good set of floor mats, it's time to do it. Last year the interior got wet driving thru a flooded intersection, and I had to mega-dry it out, used gel drying compound you get in a little bucket, sucks up moisture from the air.

I'm looking for the molded-to-fit carpeting that will go in with little to no trim-fitting, comes with all your openings pre-cut, just haul out the seats and console, clean it well, and install the carpet. What can be done for added wear protection under the driver's right foot, that's where it gets the most abuse? Do the sets come with any padding?

The original carpet is grey, it's a '95 Civic LX 4 door automatic. I'm going for something in a medium blue, same style as the original carpet pile. The interior trim is grey. I don't wanna go crazy and spend too much here, but some decent quality stuff that will last and be an easy install. Who would you get yours from?

there are no carpet kits that have little to no trimming and definatly no holes punched out....

you have to trim the edges for a perfect fit and cut the holes yourself.

a word of advice tho after you remove your carpet put all the bolts back in the floor and then when you put the new carpet in you can feel exactly where the bolt hole should be and just use a razor blade to cut a X ontop and remove the bolt thru the opening. makes it alot easier when finding the bolt holes ya need
just remember dont trim to much. cut alittle and test your trim panels if it wont fit take alittle bit more off and try try again...

The carpet my friend got off ebay had most of the holes cut out already. We did what addiction said for a few bolts, lay it in over them and cut an X to let them poke through. Also had very little trimming to do.

Very nice JerZy! The red was a great choice, the new shift and the seats match nicely. Looks like your trim-in job fits really well. Can you post the link where you got your carpet, how much was it?

What ebay site did your friend find his carpet from? Sounds like he had a good experience. I know it's prob'ly not gonna be a cookie-cutter fit out of the box, no biggie, I can handle the finishing touches trim-in from what you're describing. Only places I can think of that might need tweaking are the seat bolts and around the console area, possibly under the pedals and pass. side A/C.

The carpet he got on eBay was probably an auction for stockinteriors.com
just to their website.

I went to StockInteriors and requested a sample of their Ultra-Plush thicker pile type. My Civic has the OEM grey color now. I like the #1017 Lapis Blue, wanted to see a swatch and check the feel of the thicker pile. I think it may be worth the upgrade from the regular type. $187.38 shipped for the Ultra-Plush.

well the regular ones I got are fine. They feel thicker than the OEM. It was actually thicker than the OEM that I had a hard time putting it together. But with a little patience and time I manage to get things tucked in properly and do the proper trims.

Good luck with yours...
