Default Headlight wiring Question

First Post

Thanks for your guys help in advance

Will be posting some pictures of Civic soo (98 Black 2 dr 5 spd)

My question is I bought some halos off ebay - they have a red and black wire coming from the headlight. Also has a 3 prong plug as well. im guessing i need a female wiring harness that did not come with the headlights? If i buy a female harness. How do i know what wire colors to connect to with the harness?

the harness plugs into the stock headlights harness, just unplug the stock headlights and plug in the new ones off ebay, easy as that.

And the red and black wires are for lighting up the halos, the black is the negative that needs to be grounded and the red is the positive that needs to be connected to a positive (12V) source, such as a switch or your running lights.

then you aren't looking, it is the same plug that your factory headlight bulb plugs into

Take out your factory bulb, then pull it.......see that connection thats stopping you from taking it out? unplug that and plug in the new one. As for the two wires, you can splice into the parking lights and that way the halos will turn on whenever you turn on your parking lights.

Red goes to parking lights wires

Black goes to ground.

I apologize for not having the color for your parking light wire. I have a 5th gen and will possibly have different color wires.
p.s. I may not be worth it to wire them up as they tend to burn out in as little as weeks-months.

To wire it onto the parking lights, take off your bumper and follow the wire that your parking light is on, make sure you disconnect the battery and cut into that wire, i simply wired the black to the black wire and the red to the power wire from the parking light, now put them all toghether and make sure you tape them up real good. When i bought some halo lights off ebay about 2 years ago, they worked perfectly up until the day i sold the car (probably around 6 months) so it just really depends of the quality from the dealer.
