driveing to my friends house today a cat decided he wanted to take on my 02 ex coupe. my civic won but the bottom of the bumper was cracked. what should i do to fix this? just get a new bumper or just leave it cuz its probly gonna happin again?

 

is it the OEM bumper? if it is, usually thats hard to repair. It might be possible though, depending on how big the crack is. Go to a body shop and get an estimate, if its too big to repair, search on ebay or the Classifieds here on HCF for a new OEM bumper. Dont get an aftermarekt one to replace it because if you ever wanna sell your car, you're gonna want the OEM bumper back on it.

 

You could always go to the store and get a fiberglass repare kit and try to fix it. But its alot of work..and you got to repaint that part also.

 

BWAHAHAHAHA. *ahem* sorry.

 

i had that happen, except i hit a rabbit, and it hit the back of the canister on the exhaust and bounced off the bumper and cracked it. what i did to fix it, (a crack like 3-4 inches long) is i took and sanded a v into the crack on each side so as to sort of bevel the edge. then i filled it in on the top and from underneathe with a fiberglass repair kit from bondo. after that dried, i put bondo over the fixed part and sanded it down....looks good and level, not painted yet cuz i plan to paint the car black, but so far its held up really well. another thing i had to do was replace some of the "screws" (if you will) that hold the bumper on cuz like 3 broke off cuz theyre ****ty plastic. but yea, that did the trick.

Man All my friends call my car the roadkill machine I have hit so many small animals and yet to damage my car. Oh well It will get its day.
