I'm looking to do the same thing... I was wondering what material to use and which adhesive would work good while still being able to get it off to later change it. Also how well the material contours to the armrest on the door... it looks like it won't be easy.

To take the door of is very easy, if you have maual windows, behind the handle is a clip holding the handle to the door, you have to get a skinny flat head screw drivier and pop that clip off ,its very hard to get to and see so have patence, and the handle will come off, then take allll the screws off that you can see around the door, at the bottom theres some, once you got them all off, slowly start prying on the door, you will here popping sounds, the door is just held in with clips, if there is one part of the door thats not coming off, make sure you look that you didn't miss a screw, when you got the door panel off, just look on the inside of it and you be able to take the arm rest part off.....i serached google before about putting in power windows, and they had tuns of pics when they were taking off the door panel, i tried looking for it but couldent find it, try searcing google if you want to try and find some pics, but its farly easy, just make sure that if it dosent seem like its coming off, check whats stopping it becasue you dont want to break anything

I actually wanted to do the same thing but on my 05 civic. I want to take that part of the door panel thats cloth and re-upolster it by adding some black or silver suede fabric. I also wanted to make a matching boot for the shifter. And of coarse cover the armrest in the center. Do you know if the cloth part in the door will pop out once the door is off, so that i can work with it? The boot should be easy just require a little sowing machine action. Thanks

He has power windows. So the process is similar. You unscrew the screw behind the door handle, the screw in the lil coin try on the arm rest and then you pop off the speaker cover and there are threw screws around the speaker (only the speaker screws if you are taking the wholle panel off). Then you remove the arm rest and un-clip the power cord that runs to the power windows.

Does it look good?? I wanna see how it turned out... Post pics by hosting them on a third party site like http://www.imageshack.us/

Then to add them to your post you use either link or image button and copy and paste the link in the middle of the tags.

Should look like this for images... For links just click the link button and copy and paste the url.
