Default Interior Lighting question

Hey guys so I have a quick question. I want to put some interior lighting under my dash and I can buy the kit from Honda but its pretty expensive. So I as checking out a site called oznium and they have some cheap Cold Cathode kits and Im wondering if they would be a better choice??

They are so much cheaper that it would be totally worth it but im not sure if they are good? sturdy?? easy to install?

If you guys could tell me what you think that would be awesome!

The stuff at oznium is freaking amazing; you won't regret buying from them. I'd say just buy from oznium and go from there.

Cool so there a good website then? Nice.

What about these Cathodes? Are those the way to go for under dash interior lighting? Or if those are bad what should I use?

highly recommend oznium. instead of using cathrodes, consider using these http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips . thats what i got in my car right now. led's will last longer and can take a beating compare to the cathrodes. tried both and i love the led's i have right now

Ok gotcha so the Flex strips of LEDS are better. How hard is it to install? Keep in mind this is my first car, my first time ever attempting to do anything like this so I have no experience with mounting( which I think shouldnt be to hard) or wiring.

Is there a tutorial for complete noobs? Thanks both of you for all your help!

check out www.oznium.com and click on there FORUM link along the top right of the page. they will help out with the installs wiring!
and i also agree the led flexstrips are the best choice... the cold cathodes are a great cheap alternative BUT if you or friends kinda kick the tube they can break the glass inside the tubes and then they busted...
these led flexstrips you can beat on them all day long! only one i have ever had problems with damage is on my front 6foot strip i had for my underbody lighting when i snaged it and my front brace on a snow/ice bank which ripped them both off and only damage was it busted one solder joint inside the strip so only a foot of the strip would work.... i simply cut alittle bit of the rubber off the strip and soldered on some wires directly onto it and they all light up perfect again..... i just have 2 extra wires to tie into.LOL

Ok out of curiosity, I measured under my dash on both the driver and passengers side. The lengths varied but they were all near 20+inches but im assuming that I dont need that much LED flexstrips to give off sufficient light, am I right?

Plus how well do these LED flexstrips hold up too heat? I would like to put a couple strips in my engine bay and I want to be sure that they wont melt or get messed.

Thanks guys!

from what ive seen as long as they are not touching the exhaust or moving parts they hold up great to the heat. just use alittle common sense. if a plastic ziptie can handle the heat the flexstrip can handle it as well!

Ok thanks! And what about the length of the strips for under the dash? Do I need it to cover from one side to the other or is a smaller strip just as good?
