Hey there, here is a pic of a little mod i did to my 98 honda civic lx, i bought the car and it had this whole in the center console, it also came with a tape player from honda, which i didn't want to remove it, so i installed a little aux input it, hope you guys like it. :D

Looks clean! Nice work on that.

Did that ashtray set up come with your car stock? If so, you are lucky! That was an optional USDM part that was not too popular back in the day (or I would assume it was not popular since they are hard to come by). I found one on eBay and installed it within the past year and love it.

Ohh yeaa the ashtray, i got that on a website called MercadoLivre Brasil - Onde comprar e vender de Tudo. is a brazilian version of Ebay, it seems that most honda civics that came out over there came with that optional ohh and the clock 2 :D, huhuhuhuhu

Pretty :) Was it easy? Is there some input rca socket at the back of the stereo?

Redox 11-16-2012 01:29 PM

Hey there ZOZ, it was pretty easy and only cost me about $7 not counting the gauges, basically what i did was, i bought one of those tapes that have a stereo P2 plug, they sell those for about $1,99, i bought mine at a local marshalls store, i bought also a CD player cover to use as the panel i attached the gauges and the AUX input, there is no RCA in the back of that factory tape player, so you stick the tape you bought in the stereo and run the wire thru the back straight to the back of the cd player cover, what i did in this part was to use a female to female P2 adaptor to attach in the cd player cover, this way you can use your own P2 to P2 cable from your ipod and not mess with the tape P2 wire, because those wire after you mess around with them for a while they end up braking, that way if that happen you just change the P2 wire from your ipod and not the whole tape wire, and thats pretty much it, now if you going to run an amplifier from this tape player there is an RCA adaptor you can use so you can hook it up to your factory tape player and keep it OEM, lol, that gotta be the longest write up ever for the easiest job! sorry, i like writing! lol
