Lowering
When choosing between coilovers and springs you should take pretty much one thing into consideration:
Are you going to need/want to change the height after the initial lowering, such as for winter to make driving in snow easier? (keep in mind that you'll need an alignment every time you adjust the height). Also, if you only have light snow then 1.5" I don't think would be a problem because that's really not very low.
The reason I say this is because coilovers are more expensive. You can get springs that function just as well. Why spend extra money to buy coilovers if you don't need them to be height adjustable?
You'll probably also want to look into some shocks, because your stock ones won't take too kindly to being lowered and will probably blow.
For your drop, if you don't need adjustability, look into some H&R Sport Springs. They have around a 1.5-1.75" drop.
For your shocks I recommend getting some adjustable ones (they're adjustable in stiffness), such as KYB AGX or Koni Yellows (yellows are adjustable, right guys?)
For your wheels, check out Drag wheels at discounttiredirect.com
They have quite a selection and I think you'll find some you like. If that doesn't interest you, check out Rota wheels. I think you'd probably like Rota Boost wheels.
Rota Boost in 16" would look awesome, maybe black with red lip (if you like red)
