modifying interior
first of all, the brown on white looks like butt! i feel sorry for whoever owns that ride. painting the interior isn't that bad. take it off, sand, prime, paint. repeat the painting until you get the color you're looking for, then make SURE you use a clear coat. give it a shot and post some more pics. good luck!
about the paint, what is it called?... my interior is painted white but it loks gross because it isnt clear coated, but my boyfriend did his and in the sun, it melts and is sticky, so is there a clear coat that is made for interior as well as paint?
hey vovka, did you get that door insert from an EK9 or did you just recarpet it yourself?
oh and civicx, for plastic panels you can just use standard primer, paint and clear. i did and it looks great, no melting
. but for vynil dying parts (the special paint) someone correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think you use a clear coat with vinyl dye

i was just sitting on my *** pondering something. if you put bondo over small vynil panels and sanded it down, would it not provide a hard/smooth surface to use normal painting tecnique instead of vynil dye? or would you still have to fiberglass to make it hard before bondo.
it would, but then again, how long do you think it would take to crack or break with normal use? i would just go with some dye for the vinyl. and i never used clear with vinyl dye. the red interior looks really good.
yea, thats what i was thinking. my only issue is that the vinyl dye would be much less bright and wouldn't nearly match the red on my plastic panels. maybe i'll have to give up the idea of matching the lower panels to the red and doing the rest with black vinyl dye. i'm guessing you're talking about my red interior, thanks for the compliment
yeah, it looks good in your car. they do make panel inserts to match your color. i have seen a dealer on ebay before a while back. or do a google search. i had a company make some custom leather seat covers for my car. not cheap ones at autozone. you have to take off your stock covers and they are replacements. they make them in every color. it's hard to find the maroon/burgandy color for my car. i think i paid 70 for the 2 fronts w/ headrests and 130 for the back w/ 60-40 split. if anyones interested, i can get you their website.
scratch that. i was looking closely at the panels and they ARE plastic, which means i can just sand them smooth and do the job myself. thats going to be a summer project though i think. just not enough time to get it all painted with school still going on.
