Default More n00by questions about body mods.

After repeatingly being told to say NO! to body kits and YES! to lips, i've done some digging into lips that i like.
Now my question is, if i get a front lip, will it be okay? Or do i need to go the whole nine yards and get a rear lip (is that even a term?) and the side skirts?

I like this one alot: http://www.modacar.com/products/Hond...ami+T1+So.html

The lip you linked looks kinda like the Type-R one, look on ebay for lips too, you can find them a good deal cheaper (and even front+rear lip combos) and most people I know who get them have been very satisfied. After all, there shouldn't be much difference in fitment or durability, either way its a single piece of plastic or polyurethane. Usually the generic ebay stuff is suspect but for something that simple you'll be fine

Or you could always take the DIY route: http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=75832
Look at that lip, I think it looks pretty damn good for the fact that it's a garage door seal haha

that's funny, it actually looks good. i don't think it would look good on a civic though, i think it matches his car because even though it sticks out from the bumper at a real horizontal angle, the upper portion of his bumper sticks out exactly the same length and his bumper is already pretty squarish to begin with. Not too sure about how it would look on a civic.

the one Zoltor100 posted looks like a type r and mugen lip combined into one design (type R shape, mugen cutouts)
i like it though

Lips would look good on just the stock bumper right? Or do i need the holycrapthat'sbitchin' bumper to pull it off?

Or am i just overthinking everything ?

Yeah you would just put lips on the stock bumper, getting a body kit or aftermarket bumper to put a lip on would kinda defeat the point lol. Lips are meant as a more OEM looking alternative to body kits, it will make it stand out but is a lot more subtle than a body kit bumper. Most come in flat black, and then you can either paint it or leave it that way, I have seen cars that look great both ways. I guess it depends on your current color scheme and your own preference as to whether you would paint it to match or leave it black

That's the only place it looks good, the roof is faded really bad and the doors are starting to chip.
