I wired mine into the parking lights wire of the dimmer switch...its the red-black one

 

tried to the dimmer switch too, no luck. then in the midst of splicing wires, i accidentally touched the power wire to the frame and shorted the damn circuit [:@]. now i don't have any dash lights working. hope i only blew a fuse.

 

that should be all it is.
