NEED HELP! license plate holder!

Hi guys.

I need to take the plate between the license plate(in the back) and the boot out. and also the door mirrors out to respray them, but dont know how to.

I own a 97 EJ9 hatch. for the plate at the back, i have taken out all the screw that I can see, but pulling that black plate seems very risky and dont want any clips braking. Does anyone know how to do this? Or have some pix?

Also, I cant seem to take out the panel for the door mirrors as they seem to get stuck.( I have manual door mirrors and the angle controlling thingy gets in the way. Do i need to take out the door panel too to take the door mirrors out?

A Million thanks.

for the door panel, yes you have to take it off if you cant see the screws holding the mirror on (it should be three). And for the plate i dont know, are you sure you removed all the screws?

just saw the three screws, now need to find a way to take them off. any tool suggested?

for the plate i took the 2 screws for the actual license plate. and three on the top, between the light for the license. And also took off the weird screw holds. still wont budge. any tips?

thanks again cyber

2 Attachment(s)
my 99coupe there is 3 plastic screw/retainers on the top around the plate lights, 1 in the center of the plate, and then 2 nuts on the back of the trunk lid one close to the lock cylinder and on the other side. easy to see. i wouldnt think it would be to much different, tho yours probably has a trim panel over the back. just remember to pull the plastic screw out and then pull the plastic retainer clip part out as well, also when re tightening the 2 nuts remember its in PLASTIC! be carefull! it will bust right out!

i out some gutter guard material behind mine to prevent some trunk rattling. works good and is cheap ;)
HOPE IT HELPS....

Oh i see, there must be a few bolts under the trim.
Would anyone know how to get the back panel off then?

Btw, love that gutter guard stuff. where did you get it?

well just look at the back trim panel and see if there is any screws holding it on... if not it just snaps onto the car . just look good to see any screws around the panel......

gutter guard i believe you can buy it at menards.... or maybe lowes or home depo... i havent shoped for it in along time... its around the gutter section rolled up. suposed to be used to seal gutters. its just a roll of rubber with a self backing adhesive which ya just pull the back like wax paper off and stick it down to what ever.... think its about 15bucks a roll or something like that...

works decent... i wouldnt do the whole car in it but its great for troublesome vibration spots.
