New Gauge Cluster Problem
So as a lot of you know, I just recently put an SI gauge cluster into my 98 EX. Well I want to sell my original gauge cluster, but does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do when I want to sell the car...because I am going to have to convince whoever is buying it that it has less miles than what the cluster says. The new cluster has 22,000 miles more than my other one. Basically am I just screwed if I want to sell the car in the future?
if you are that worried about it then keep the cluster that you have, and just wind it up to the milage that your car is when you go to sell it and then put it back in.
I think it would be more illegal to have one that is incorrect than to set one to what is right. [on a side note, can something realy be more illegal than something else lol]
I would keep the old one and put it back in when you sell it. I know when i sell my car, i will take off all of my mods so they don't think it was driven super hard by some adolescent teenager (well i am a teenager, but i dont drive the shiat out of it...most of the time
)
)
actually most of the time, it's just as wise to leave it, and swap it back if you ever sell it
afaik, in most states it's illegal to turn one backwards, but not illegal to turn it forwards..

good story..at a tow truck company i work at, when they get new tow trucks..they install a switch to the gauge cluster so only when they want to, the KM's will go up...this way when they sell them later on they will get more money for it..i hope they get caught
