Default newb question

Okay so I saw this civic the other day and i noticed that the cf hood was REALLY dull and faded looking. Then I heard from a friend that when you buy a cf hood you must get it clear coated or else it will fade and look like crap. I am about to buy a cf hood for 350.00 (grade A) but i was wondering do i need to get it clear coated and if so how much should that cost. Do some cf hoods come clearcoated? Thanks

Not really true. What you saw was most likely an ebay knock off, plain and simple. Real carbon fiber doesnt fade.

yep...e-bay knock offs or any really cheap CF hoods will dull and not fit properly and not be sturdy and not have it layed right and so on...spend a little extra and it will last you forever

thanks, I just got done looking on this website that a friend directed me to (streetstyler.com). I didnt order the hood yet cuz i still want to look around but i did buy a type r style front lip. The hood was priced at 425. and some change. Is that a reasonable price? Another site was asking for almost 600.
