Default Night driving.

Well this semester i got 2 classes at night so im doin a lot of night driving across town. and well my lights just aint cutting it lol they are so dim its hard 2 see whats in front of me... specially when its snowing.

So im gonna upgrade my headlights to something that will put out more light.
but there's so many options out there... that im lost lol.
i think i wanna go wit some HID's. maybe like a 6000k?
i also want to have low n high beams.

Do you guys recommend any good websites to buy from?
and i need to change my headlight housing as well huh?
and is there a limit to how bright they can be? (as in getting pulled over)

Any help would be appreciated.
THANKS!

I remember 5th gen lights being really awful compared to 6th gen lights. Do you have fog lights? They help a little. Part of it is that the reflectors on the actual headlights are smaller so they can't really get the light out there. That's just how they're shaped.

You can try some bi-xenon HIDs. They can do low and high beams. 6000K sounds about good.

I've been rocking ebay fogs for awhile. They're fine. If they make OEM replicas for your car, DO IT. They're easy to install. You have to do minor cutting on the bumper but thats nothing.

See im having the same issue to be honest, i have headlights that are on par with Pia Bulbs, and they just arent that bright, and where i live its common to have moose on the highway... and you need bright lights to spot em, seeing as they are generally just a dark spot on the road... If i were to go with some Bi-Xenon's as well, do you think these lenses would work well?

I think you missed my point. The EG headlights are small to begin with. The lenses are half the size of an EK's. HIDs will help but no matter what headlights you have, they're still the same size.

That's a cheap *** ebay kit. It'll probably be ok. Never heard of that other site. It's probably ok.

Yeah Largen, i think the reason we put out less light on the road has to do with the way the EG housings are. They are thin compared to EK's. because Ek's have big rounded housings.

i think HID's would be the best way to get more light output.
now i just gotta go find a website to get em from lol

Hey guys would this be all i need as a kit? not sure if this is a complete kit... even tho it says kit on it..just wanna make sure http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=102&parent=85
and i would need the H4 right?

it says that 55 watts are brighter and less color, so does this mean i should get a 55 watt with like 10000k? i read somewhere that 10000k's in 55 watts are like 6000k's in 35 watts.

I have heard some horror stories about ddmtuning.com. I would also recommend buying 35w, not 55w, unless you want to blind everyone on the other side of the road.

DaOne, how much do you have to spend? Usually those cheaper bi-xenon HID kits are HID low beams and halogen high beams. Also, I have heard a few things about HIDs arent meant to be turned on and off quickly. You flipping between highs and lows could possibly damage the HIDs.

When I have the extra cash, Im going with a set from retro-solutions.com. They have some nice sets which give you HID lows and highs. When you switch them to highs, they have a digital thingy in it that angles the HID to have the reflect farther and wider out on the road. The kit is about $160 or so, but I have read threads full of people who are happy with the company.
