Default Pics from my cathode and LED install

My boyfriend and I started up something of a red vs. blue lighting competition, I chose red. I like. At night the lights are bright inside, but I can barely tell they are on whenI'm standing outside the car. Yay for dark tinting. I'd *almost* feel safe pullingup next to a cop at night with them on, but my car's paint turns this orangish color at night and they like to give me crap for more stuff thanthe average car.Of course, camera's never take decent pictures of lights at night, the few that turned out look decent, just imagine them a bit of a darker shade of red.

Glow water bottles. Slide right out when I turn. Gah.

(My car)

What do you guys think? Also, do you know of any bottles that fit perfectly into the cupholders of a 98 Civic? I'm looking for some better glow bottles.... Next project will be getting flex strips and putting red LEDs behind my cluster that come on when both the headlights, and light switch are on. I want to wire them to the dimmer too. Should be fun working that out. Oh, and behind the heater controls. Other than that, I have nothing else I want to do with the lights. MAYBE put LEDs in the air vents, but that might attract the cops more so yeah...Shame too because I have 45 LEDs. For $25 totalspent on lights, I think it looks awesome, not overpowering at all.

i have the blue going on in my car also. got blue neon sticks on the front and back and also my radio is blue and just swapped out my gauge lights to the blue neon bulbs. looks good though. How did you get the light to light up on the cupholder?
BTW Your interior lighting looks really good.

Thanks! Thats usually what I do too actually. Heaven forbid Honda give us cupholders that actually hold drinks effectively. My 93 Accord was a bit better at holding cups though. At least in the front - thats all that matters because Idon't have to deal with anywhere else.:P

I actually just came up with an awesome solution to the water bottle tipping problem - a hot glue gun and six glue sticks. I put a nice ring of glue around the bottom of the bottles, let it dry, then sanded the glue downso itfits perfectly in the cupholders. No tipping, and they come in and out nicely. I like the look of water bottles over gatorade bottles, it looks kinda like a laser being pointed into a crystal.

I am a bit afraid of my friends accidentally kicking the cathodes on the bottom of the seats... freaking tall friends.

Thanks! I think blue is the most common color for interior lights. It looks awesome but it wouldn't look right in my car.

For the cupholders - I took my cupholder out, used my dremel to drill holes in it, stuck ten LEDs in the holes, hot glued them in wired everything up and put the cup holder back in. Very, VERY easy to do. Hardest part is getting the cupholder out.

There's actually a DIY about it (where I got the idea from actually) its

Lots of spiffy lighting ideas there =) https://www.oznium.com/ is also a great place to get lights.

will fit better.

Looks nice. I was never into this stuff but I think I'm going to do it to my car. How much does a few cathodes cost?

What size of gatorade? The lil guys that come in six packs?

They are $6.49 for a kit. That includes two cathodes the color of your choice (including UV... ooooh) and a transformer to hook them up. I have three, but two would look fine. I alsogot an extra transformer because I wanted to be able to put the cathodes where ever the heck i wanted without wire restrictions. http://www.oznium.com/cathode-kit

Pretty much all you need beyond that is some wire, double sided sticky tape and maybe an inline fuse (I did because with LEDs my lighting comes out to about 3.8 amps, one cathode kit is 0.7 amps though). I already had all of that lying around the house.

I'm quite happy with it. I need to hide a few wires a bit better, but other than that...
