And if you don't know...
FWD = Front Wheel Drive
4WD = Four wheel drive
AWD = All wheel Drive

In other words spoilers are for looks on Civics. I don't mind 'em though.

There's more to it than just that. The amount of downforce a spoiler creates only really makes a difference at high speeds (80mph+) And still then, because of the engine weight, I can't imagine it making any real difference of traction on the front tires. It does create more weight for RWD cars though. As well as cosmetics, it helps with wind noise. If you have a spoiler it usually makes the cabin quieter on the interstate. But at the same time, because of the drag it creates, your gas mileage may go down a bit. If you really want a spoiler though, don't be an idiot and get those ridiculously large ones like in Fast and the Furious, you just look a douche with those. ESPECIALLY on a FWD car lol XD

I can't believe that no one has brought up what they DO do. LOL They attract the attention of the Police. That is all they do though. So really its just not worth it.

Yaaah when I purchased my Honda, it had one of those Wal-Mart like sound heads for the muffler. Made my car so unecessarely loud (expecially since the engine and all was stock, so no XTRA SPEED), the day before I decide to take it off, I got pulled over late at night because I cop heard my muffler and thought I was doing some illegal racing on the HIGHWAY (Some cars were doing it)... Of course I pleaded not guilty though, yaaaaaa, I'm just jabbering. Lol forgive me!

Talking about walmart horror stories - Has anyone seen those speakers you plant near your exhaust and it makes your car sound like it has a bigger exhaust. That's right down there with spinner hubcaps XD But ya, take the advice of everyone here - They attract cops (what more reasons do they need to pull us over ), lessen gas mileage, and may be slightly cosmetically pleasing.
