OK, i am getting a replacement rear bumper and I need to know if the 99-00 bumper for a coupe will fit on my 96 coupe. Please only respond if you are pretty sure, cuz i thought so, but the people I'm ordering it from said I should check. Please let me know.

 

im pretty sure it will...i have a 98 and im pretty sure that the 99-00 only had a bit of the problem with the front end like the hood,fenders,and head lights....( i think)

 

Its the same, unless you go to a 4 door
The only diff is the front

 

Could some more people please post about this? I need to be sure that the rear bumper from a 99-00 will fi a 96.

 

yes, all side skirts and rear bumpers from 96-00 willfit all models between 96-00. So, yes it will fit. The only thing that changes in 6th gen (96-00) is the front bumpers of the 96-98 wont fit the front bumpers of a 99-00, and vise versa (the headlights and grill are different sizes)

 

Well, I found out the ARE different, but they both fit hence the discrepencies. Thanks everyone that helped.

The lip part is not as recessed on the 99-00 ones. So lips for 96-98 do NOT fit the 99-00. However, the bumper mounts up in the same place, so the entire bumper cover is transferable between the models.
