roll cage.....crumple zones.....SAFETY!!!!

happy new year everyone!!!
so i bought a super clean EG hatch last week.....
a rolling chassis with a nhra certified 8 pt cage.....
i was pulling out the plastics in the back when i noticed the side crumple zones had been cut out.....
im really wondering if this car will be safe to drive on the streets everyday???
obviously the cage adds some measure of security......but im a bit concerned with just how impact sapfe this vehicle will be...
i already put in a ls vtec setup....i am about to install my turbo....
anyone on here have any input....or at least does anyone on here with experience on this particular subject have any input???
thanks much guys!!!
be well,
jon

you dont need to double post, but any who, you will prprbly be fine, you are just gonna feel more force cause the whole car is gonna move insted of crumple, but the cage should keep you safe, although i can say that for other cars, with out a crumple zone, if you smack somthing, you are gonna do some damage

you're going to be really sorry if you get in an accident and hit your head on the cage with no helmet on.

yeah sorry for double posting.....
i didnt know which would be the appropriate forum for such a question.....
i will take a few pics tomorrow and post them up here.....
the cage has 2" thick foam padding around all of it.....
yes i am aware of the possibility of hitting my head on it in a collision.....
im a bit bummed out to find the crumple zones were cut out.....
i wish my "friend" would have made me aware of that "minor" detail before i bought the car.....
maybe i should just offer it up for sale on ebay.......
thanks guys.....!
jon
