Default Self painting custom exterior parts

Im thinking about buying a new bumper/lip and some new fenders. I want to to it myself because it will be cheaper, but i realize probably wont look as good. I was wondering if anyone has painted their own parts themselves, or does everyone just goto a custom shop?

thats to get the paint flashed...some paint stores dont do that, what i did when i got my paint was you need your color code on the inside of your car usually that space were the door closes, and you need your vin ..so i guess your using a spray gun or you going to use a can?
