i dont think a type r lip looks good on an EG. oh just to let you know thats a bad price its even cheaper on ebay for the front and rear lip

Type r lip or mugen lip IMO. However, I would say save for suspension before anything. That thing needs a drop!

Keep the stock ex/SiR front lip and slam it. Trust me, it's pure sex:

The only front lip I like on EGs is the Spoon lip. I had a Mugen style lip on that civic before putting the SiR lip on it and it looked all right, but not great. The stock ex lip (same as the jdm SiR lip) is the best option for 5th gens IMO... not to mention it's polyurethane so it's pretty hard to break if you're slammed :D

*edit: OEM front lip, EK skirts, and Type-R rear lip ftmfw. Do that and slam it :D

Thanks guys, I actually thought that was a good price lol, well because I can talk in person and cash talks! But i dont know about dropping it! I already feel like that thing is TOO damn low! But HCF knows best! :D can someone point me to a nice suspension kit? Yeah im gonna browse my local Upull-upay pretty soon so ill be getting those ek skirts and front lip reaper!

You already have the front lip :D

The skirts should be easy enough to find; you just need the skirts from a 2/3dr 96-00 and I'm sure there's plenty of them sitting in u-pulls.

For suspension, I'm going to recommend the standard Ground Control coilover sleeves and KONI yellow strut combo. If you want something cheaper, GC coilovers and KYB AGX struts will work, but if you're as low as I was, you can pretty much plan on replacing at least one leaky strut per year. Ground Control extended top hats should help with the strut wear, though.

For a rear lip, eBay would be fine. If not eBay, try HMotorSports or StreetStyler. I've bought from HMS twice and really can't complain; they're in Cali and ship USPS ground, so shipping to the East coast took a while. I don't think shipping to CO would take too long though.

^ but you forgot what i said about my current front lip!! Its crap! Well its nice but it hit the ground and the plastic cover underneath the lip where you jack up the car is falling off :( I think i can save it though, if i go to the pull a part and get that part by itself! Or just pull the screws i need! Hey thanks a lot man! Pretty soon you'll see a new project :D Riggz's FIRE civic!!!!

reaper2022 May 3, 2010 12:20 PM

haha, you just said the bumper was crap, nothing about the lip :D

Anyway, you really don't need the splash shield under the car. It was about the first thing I took off my old civic; the front lip will still attach to the bumper without the splash shield as long as the clips and screws are good. If they're FUBAR, the front lip uses the same mounting hardware as the splash shield, even on cars that don't have the front lip.

I wouldn't put a Type R lip on a 92-95. There was no 92-95 type R. It's a 96-00 thing, so to the Honda purists, it looks goofy. Stock EX/SiR lip will do fine.

thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys, i really appreciate your help, but anyways yeah this is it.. I was about to pull it off anyways but its good to hear that it doesnt provide any added benefit other than extra weight lol. Also, its gonna suck when it starts snowing here in colorado when my car is virtually a snow plow :(
